Accommodation
Finding accommodation in Sydney can be difficult (and expensive). Our students have found it difficult to find something within their budgets from time to time, and encountered issues with taking out a lease.
UTS student housing should be able to provide support through this process, whether you are interested in on or off-campus accommodation. However, if you hit a brick wall or need things like letters of support/proof you are studying and on a scholarship etc, get in touch with cic@uts.edu.au and detail your issues. We will do everything we can to help.
CIC staff and PhD students have also created an excel for your accommodation reference.
If you are looking into renting, it is worth having a look at the NSW Fair Trading site. Bear in mind that if you do not have a banking history in Australia, or if your income is not seen as sufficient, taking out a lease on a property can be difficult. It may be that share accommodation is easier to for you to obtain and then it is worth looking at sites like Flatmate Finders or Flatmates, or community sites like Gumtree.
